Summer is in Session

Screenshot_2017-04-10-17-58-09-1Ahh, I wish Summer vacation was year ’round! The past few weeks have been full of last minute papers, and studying for exams; so, I guess you could say I am 100% ready for this nice long break, that will probably fly by in the blink of an eye. With my 21st birthday on its way and year TWO of dating my best friend, I could not be more excited to see what else is in store for me this year!

With that being said, I have listed a few of my favorite ways to spend my Summer days/nights, down below.

  1. SHOPPING! what better way to spend your money than at an outdoor mall with warm air, sunshine, ice cream in one hand, and loads of shopping bags in the other? Thankfully, I have a boyfriend who loves shopping almost as much as I do, so I get to do this quite often ❤ 😉
  2. Baseball Games! Although, my favorite player from the Cincinnati Reds was recently traded (Brandon Phillips), I will still be attending my favorite ball park of all time (it’s the only one I’ve ever been to.) This may be the only sport I actually understand and enjoy watching, but it’s my boyfriend, and atmosphere that makes the whole experience all the more fun!
  3. Amusement Parks! I mean, who doesn’t love roller coasters? This is one of my all time favorite ways to spend a summer day, especially with some of my favorite people ❤
  4. Drive-in movies! I love that these things are still around. They’re cheap, enjoyable, you don’t have to get out of the car, new movies are shown, and you can bring whatever food you want! How much better can it get?
  5. Have a Picnic! Simple, fun, and full of food. I love going to the park, laying down a blanket, and eating tons of food with my Best Friend. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy each other’s company without any interruptions and take the time to soak up the sun. (Maybe this Summer we will actually prepare our own food instead of going through a drive-thru) 😉

I hope you enjoyed my little “Summer bucket-list,” and maybe take on one of these dates yourself!

Get your “Glow” on!

Hey, everyone! I hope you’ve all had a great week so far! Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday, I’m ready for some weekend fun! With summer just around the corner, tanning is now in session. For today’s post, I decided to share with you guys 2 products that I have been absolutely loving, and including into my daily routine.

I apply the body moisturizer once a day after my shower (using gloves so my hands don’t get stained), and can instantly see results the next day. I apply the face moisturizer before my make-up, in place of my regular moisturizer, and then once at night before bed; seeing results the next day as well. I’m usually very cautious when it comes to trying new face products, because of how sensitive my skin is. Thankfully this one does not cause me any trouble.  This stuff works wonders! I love the even, natural glow they give off, just in time for shorts weather! Both products are affordable, easy, and actually work! What more could you want?

You can find these two products anywhere from Walmart, Target, or drug stores.

Thank you so much for reading. I hope you have a FANTASTIC weekend!

God, lead the way

Do you ever feel stuck? Like you have no direction on where to go next? Yeah, me too!

Changing my major has become a HUGE eye opener. I’ve always been one to plan, I like knowing exactly what I’m going to do next and where I’m going to be, whether it be tomorrow or years down the road. When I started Nursing school I felt like I had everything figured out. Like, when I was going to graduate, where I was going to finish my degree,Screenshot_2017-04-05-19-27-50-1 how I was going to pay for it, and where I wanted to work and live. It all seemed so clear to me, a straight path to the finish line; but like they say, things don’t always go as planned.

Now, I’m in the Early Childhood Education program, and I LOVE it; but unfortunately, I don’t have everything figured out for this one. Where do I go from here? When will I finish? How will I pay for it? Where will I work? It’s a whole new process for me, starting over and going from one thing to the other. Thankfully, I’ve come to realize more and more that God has it all figured out, way before I do. Everything will fall into place, when He is ready. I must stay patient, and take one day at a time, praying for the best!

Other than this little bump in the road, everything else is going great! Last month I formed a life group/Bible study with my great friend Kylie, and it’s been very successful! I love being surrounded by friends, talking about God, and sharing stories 🙂 I have also joined a missions/out-reach team with Kylie, where we’ve started our own little project, that hopefully takes off! It’s all very exciting, and I can’t wait to see what God has in store for us next!

Thank You so much for reading, and don’t forget to like and share!

I hope you have a great rest of the week!

I love attending school and wp-1490308324993.jpgall, but for some reason this semester is dragging, and summer could not come soon enough! Other than that, everything is going GREAT, as always. wp-1490287853594.pngI wanted to share with you guys some things I’ve been loving the past few months. I hope you Enjoy, and maybe even find a new item to add to your favorites.

  1. Bare Minerals serum foundation: This is by far the best foundation I’ve ever landed my hands on. It gives me just enough coverage, all while providing an all-natural look. It was even the award-winning foundation in ‘Allure’ magazine for 2016 😉

  1. Hair towel/ turbans: Obsessed! I received two for Christmas and have used them ever since. I throw my hair up in one of these after a shower, and-voilà!-fast, easy, heatless, dried hair.

  1. Hunters: I know, I’ve talked about these before, but I just can’t get enough of them. With Spring, finally here, who knows when you’ll need to throw on a pair of rain boots for those endless rainy days. Have I mentioned they come in every color imaginable?     ‘How to style Hunters in the spring’ post, COMING SOON!

  1. ‘Think and Grow Rich’ by Napoleon Hill: I can’t remember the last time I had a conversation with my dad and this book not come up. He has been so interested in my journey with this blog and decided this book would be perfect for not only my blog but also my mind set on things. It has given me a whole new outlook on how to pursue my dreams and never give up! This is a perfect book for anyone, especially those trying to reach their goals in life.

  1. The ‘Sprinkle of Jesus’ App: Okay, so I’ve recently discovered this AMAZING app, full of Jesus! It has everything; from sermons, the Bible, a blog, a prayer wall (one of my favorite parts), prayer tips, you can submit your own quotes, shop their store, and even connect with groups! I also receive pop-ups on my phone, with words of wisdom and daily reminders. It’s a great way to connect your faith through social media.

Thank you so much for reading!

The Jesus Bible

So recently I was on the hunt for a new Bible. One that gave me room to journal, review, and one that provided me with more insight on what was going on throughout each book of the Bible. Luckily, after a very short search, I found the most perfect Bible with exactly just that!

‘The Jesus Bible’  is GREAT for anyone, especially for those who seek a little more guidance while reading. You’re walked through each book with the help of introductions and side notes involving certain scriptures, leading you into the importance of Jesus on each and every one of the pages.

I have always had the hardest time reading the Bible and actually understanding what was going on throughout it, trying to put it all into perspective. This Bible makes it so easy for me to open up, read a few pages and feel like I actually learned something, like my own personal Bible study.

So go check it out! It would make an awesome gift for anyone and EVERYONE! You can purchase it from stores like Amazon,, and Barnes & Noble.

I have linked the three different choices down below from Barnes & Noble, or you can click on the picture below and you will be taken straight to the Amazon page, where you can look through them yourself and get a little introduction. This is by far my favorite purchase of all time, no doubt! I can’t seem to put it down.

Spring into a new pair

With Spring right around the corner, there is no time to waste when it comes to searching for the perfect pair of shoes. I managed to gather up a few of my favorite buys and discoveries to share with you! You won’t want to pass up these adorable styles attached with some GREAT deals!

#1  These colorful Sam Edelman tie-up sandals are perfect for the warm weather season. Add a pop of color to any t-shirt dress, or skinnies and tee combo. They are also on major sale! Check them out down below!

#2  I’m a sucker for a cute pair of slip-ons, and Sam Edelman never disappoints. This pair is suited for a “Queen Bee” with style. I linked them down below, as well as a few of the other colors!

#3  BIRKENSTOCKS! These puppies have been on the rise for the past few years and nothing is stopping people from making a purchase; except maybe the price tag; BUT, you’re in luck! I was able to hunt down quite a few different styles and colors,  ALL under $100!!!

There are more where these came from!

#4  Have ’em, wear ’em, love ’em! Toms are one of my favorite shoes brands, and when I saw these, I just could not pass up the purchase. I love slipping these on for a last minute run or even an all-day outing. They’re super comfortable and go with everything!

#5  AHHHH, These boots are my absolute fave! I would wear them all day, everyday if I could. With infinite colors, you’re bound to find a pair that matches any outfit, and you don’t need the rain to get by with wearing these babies. I own them in black and navy, and I have a feeling it’s not going to stop there. My favorite site has them on sale, around 40% off!

#6  How cute are these!? A mix of a sandal and espadrille? I am SOLD! They are already on the top of my “next to purchase list” 😉 and I’m already imagining all of the outfits I could wear these with. They also come in a brown/camel color.

#7  My latest purchase, literally! I can’t wait to wear these with my favorite pair of skinnies and a basic tee. They are definitely going to be an everyday, go-to for me! They come in a few different colors and styles. I normally wear an 8, but with the buttons, I am able to fit into a 7.5, and they fit perfectly!

These are just a few of my favorite buys and finds. There are plenty more where these came from. I hope you enjoy and make yourself a little purchase, or two, or three. Heck, I’d buy them all if I were you! A girl can NEVER have too many shoes 😉

5 ways I manage my stress

stress pic.png

Loads of college work, personal issues, work in general. Stress can evolve from many things, and it completely stinks!

As a college student, and employee myself, I feel as if I can’t catch a break. Multiple paged papers being assigned a week before they’re due, tests every week, chapters needing to be read, and keeping up with work hours so I can still make some money. It’s not hard for my weeks to become filled within hours. Now, of course there are people out there who have WAY more on their plate than I do. I mean, I only go to class twice a week and work twice a week, but things do add up and I tend to be quite the “worrier,” so stress gets to me, even in the lightest situations.

With that being said, here are 5 ways I keep stress in the back seat!

  1. Seek God!

Anytime I feel the slightest bit of stress, God is my first resort, EVERY SINGLE TIME!

I actually start my day by reading a daily devotion from my ‘Jesus is Calling’ book, which helps set the way for the rest of my day. It always keeps positive thoughts in my mind, knowing that He is with me always, no matter the obstacles I face. Talk to Him, read about Him, look too Him in all that you do! I promise you’ll feel so much better knowing you’re not fighting the battles alone.

2.  Find something to look forward to.

When I get overwhelmed with how the next few days are looking or even what I have to get done that night, I always try to think of something that will make my day or week a little bit brighter. For me, I always look forward to the weekends. Having a boyfriend that goes to college 2 hours away, the weekends become my “prized possessions.” Just knowing that I get to see him in 2, or even 5 days, always puts a smile on my face. This helps me see the light at the end of the tunnel, while in the mix of a busy week.

3. Treat yourself!

I love setting aside my worries and enjoying one of my favorite treats. Whether it be a few cookies, a candy bar, some chips, etc. Food is good and sometimes you just need a little something to help “take the edge off.” It gives me a few worry free minutes, and a little more enjoyment in the day. (I guess you could say I’m an “eat your feelings” kind of girl, but hey, it works, and I know how to control myself……sometimes. 😉

4. Plan it out.

School can bring on quite the stress. So when I’m getting ready to start a new week, I like to plan out how it’s going to go. Writing down each assignment due and breaking them off into a different day in my planner helps me organize my time and not feel over powered by all of the work. If there are big assignments due, I do a little bit each day so It’s not all jammed into one. I usually plan everything for Mondays through Fridays, this way I have my weekends to enjoy and not worry about the assignments due, since I already have them done. This has helped me big time!

5. Just breathe!

Life can get pretty tough and sometimes we have no idea how to handle it. There are going to be things you’re going to have to deal with, and others that can be resolved; but in the midst of it all, you just need to take a step back, look at the good in life, and just breathe. Life is way too short to let homework assignments, work schedules, and even people get in the way of your journey and who you are as a person.

These 5 tips have helped me in so many ways, even in times of doubt. I hope they can do the same for you! Feel free to leave your tips in the comments! 🙂

Kill ’em with Kindness

Have you ever had someone give you a dirty look? Run into you and not say sorry? Call you a name? or just flat out have no respect?

I’ve worked in fast food for over four years, and let me tell you; disrespect comes in and out of those restaurant doors every single day. As an employee, I get blamed for the store running out of an item, I get rude looks when I ask a customer what they want, as if I’m supposed to know; and a lot of times I don’t even get a please or thank you; and it doesn’t stop there. I get disrespect when I go to stores, restaurants and even school! It is everywhere, happening to everyone, and it’s just not right!

I was raised to respect others; to say “please” and “thank you,” to hold the door open for others, to lend people a helping hand, smile and most importantly, treat people the way I want to be treated; and to be honest, these kinds of actions give my life more positivity. When I get the same respect back, my heart becomes so full.

Yes, we are all human, we all go through bad days. We run late, we forget things, we get stressed, overwhelmed, sad, lost, lonely, even “hangry.” I feel we need to take other people’s feelings into consideration and how our “bad day” attitudes can affect those all around us. When I get a disrespectful customer at work, I end up thinking about it all day, putting myself down, questioning why I don’t get the same respect I give out. Although I let these kinds of things get to me, I don’t let them change who I am and you shouldn’t either! Wish them a great day, flash them a smile; keep the positivity going!

We all live on the same planet, under God’s roof. There is not one of us  better than the other. So why not just BE NICE! You’re not out anything!

Fashion on a Budget

As a college student, part-time employee, and full-time shopaholic, I take my bargain shopping VERY seriously! From high-end brands, the latest styles, and everyday wear, I find my way around those expensive price tags, and you can too!

Here are a few tips on how I manage to update my wardrobe, all while keeping money in my wallet.

  • Marshalls and TJ Maxx are my go-to stores for anything and EVERYTHING. I can walk out with a couple tops, a pair of shoes, a few misc. items and never spend over $100. Those racks are full of great deals and unique pieces; you’ll never walk out with empty hands.

  • Online shopping! Yes, I know, waiting is no fun, but I have found some of the best deals online, as well as items that are no longer sold in the stores. Plus, a lot of sites also include promo codes on top of sale, equaling a huge discount!

  • “Retail Me Not”, the best app when looking for deals on literally ANYTHING! Food, clothes, shoes, attractions, the list goes on; this app is sure to leave you with savings.

  • Nordstrom Rack is another one of my favorites! With name brands, low prices, and a huge selection, you’ll want to move right in! I purchase a majority of my shoes here, including brands like, Toms, Sam Edelman, and Sperry; all for under $30. Their site is just as great, so go give it a visit!

  • Give the “Kid’s” section a peak! It may sound odd and all, but I’ve had huge success! For most stores, the biggest sizes in Kid’s usually run as the beginning sizes in adult’s. I recently purchased a few tops from Abercrombie Kid’s (size 13/14), and they fit perfectly, like an adult size small. On the plus side, it even works with shoes! So give it a try, you might be surprised!

These tips have saved me from paying full price for anything, EVER! I hope they can do the same for you!  Who wouldn’t want to fulfill their closet and bank account all at the same time?

Feel free to share your great finds and bargains in the comments!

Finding my Connection

Growing up in a world where we communicate using technology, it’s not hard to disconnect our minds from what really matters in the world around us. Rather than how many likes we get on an Instagram picture, or who follows us on twitter, we should be focusing on our one True King!

Unfortunately, I’m one of those people. I sit on my phone for hours, relaxing, watching TV, every day, all day; and there sits my Bible, 5 feet away. Yeah, I’ll pick it up and read a few pages, just not as often as I pick up my phone. I attend church on Sundays, listen to the Christian station, I read daily devotions, and I pray throughout the day. But, I ask myself “is this enough?” Am I too distracted by everyday life, that I don’t give my full attention to the One who has full control?

For me, I have ALWAYS been jealous of those who seem to have a strong connection with God. I can see those connections in the way people approach and care for others, I can hear the connections in the prayers, and worshipping during church. I can even feel the connections, in the smiles, laughs, tears, and hugs people spread amongst one another, and I enjoy that feeling so very much!

As it says in the Bible, “Blessed are those who keep his testimonies, who seek him with their whole heart” – Psalm 119:2 ESV. I’ve learned, that I need to do just that, in order to experience the very one thing I crave!

If I want a connection with God, stronger than any other connection I’ve ever had, then I HAVE to do my part. I need to set aside my distractions and give my all to Him, show Him I’m committed and truly want this. Whether that means listening to the Christian station, picking up my Bible and reading a few pages, praying, joining a Bible Study; whatever it is, I need to give it my all!

There are so many ways we can connect with Him, to give Him our full attention and whole heart, and we all have our own special way of doing it. So find it, treasure it, and share it!He is the answer to everything! Our stress, worries, happiness, strength, comfort, obstacles and future is all in His hands, if we just give it to Him and let it be, everything will fall in to place! ❤
